Egy év kihagyás után, újra visszatért a Backyard Garage csapatának nagy találkozója a basics. egy nagy csavarral. Kettő sikeres korábbi találkozó után egyértelmű lett, hogy kinőtték a korábbi helyszínt, így váltani kellett. Ha már váltás, akkor álmodjunk nagyot, és emeljük a tétet jelszóval átköltöztették a rendezvényt a Nemzeti Atlétikai Stadionba. Ez Budapest legújabb sportkomplexuma, ahol korábban hasonló autós rendezvény nem volt, így a stadion számára is egy új debutálás volt autós kultúra világába.
Jómagam még nem jártam személyesen itt mióta megnyílt, de most ahogy részletesen bejártam a komplexum külső részét ahol voltunk, kimerem jelenteni, hogy ez a mi magyar Ultrace-ünk lesz egy nap. Az alapok megvannak hozzá. Ha a jövőben megengednénk, hogy előző napi bepakolást, este egy hatalmas partit is lehetne rendezni. Gondoljatok csak bele. Este van, felkapcsolják a stadion díszkivlágítását. Kikerülnek a kreatív fények az autók köré. A színpadon a DJ keveri a zenét. Az emberek pedig fogyasztanak a standoknál és jól érzik magukat. Ezt így ahogy van, itt közép-kelet Európa egyik fővárosában, meg lehet csinálni. Remélhető, hogy így lesz. Egy biztos, akárhogy is folytatjuk én ott leszek.
After a one-year hiatus, the Backyard Garage team’s big gathering, basics. is back—with a major twist. Following two successful previous events, it became clear that they had outgrown their former venue, so a change was necessary. If changing venues was needed anyway, the team went by with the phase, “why don’t we think big and raise the stakes”, and they moved the event to the National Athletic Stadium. This is Budapest’s newest sports complex, where no similar car event had been held before, so it was also a debut for the stadium in the world of car culture.
I haven’t personally been here since it opened, but now that I’ve thoroughly explored the exterior of the complex where we were, I dare say that this will one day be our hungarian Ultrace. The foundation is there. If we were to allow to move one day before in the future, we could even organize a huge party. Just imagine it. It’s evening, and the stadium’s decorative lighting comes on. Creative lights are set up around the cars. On stage, the DJ started it’s set for the night. People are enjoying themselves at the stands and having a great time. This, just as it is, can be done right here. In this capital, in the Central-Eastern Europe’s region. Hopefully it will happen. One thing is certain: no matter how it goes, I’ll be there.
